Maryann Campo
Maryann Campo has lobbied in the state for 19 years. Her unique style has earned her praise and respect from legislators, administrators, and key stakeholders. Her ability to strategize, articulate, and persevere has garnered much success for her clients. She gives thoughtful, fair, and persuasive arguments as she works to achieve the goals of her clients. Maryann is considered a driving force at the Capitol, and her tenacity has earned her the admiration of key legislators and colleagues. She has been named one of the best lobbyists in Minnesota by The Minneapolis Star-Tribune and the St. Paul Legal Ledger.
Dan Campo
Daniel Campo has lobbied the Minnesota Legislature since 2001, and brings more than a decade of vast professional experiences to the table. Dan integrates the skills he acquired during his work as a political communications coordinator, a fundraiser, and a campaign manager. He honed those skills to become a creative and concise communicator for his clients. His knowledge of the political process, the people, and the policy is extensive. His track record for achieving desired results is impeccable.
Peg Larsen
Peg Larsen is an expert in the political process. Peg’s
knowledge and experience with intricacies inside politics has attributed
to her numerous clients successes over five legislative sessions. Peg
has a unique ability to bring people together who, normally would
sit on opposite sides of issues. One of her key strengths is
leveraging forward movement and achieving workable solutions
Peg became a council woman for the city of Lakeland Minnesota in
1987. Peg served with the city council, and as Commissioner of public
safety. Peg was appointed by the council as interim Mayor in
1991. As the first woman mayor of Lakeland Peg concisely won
re-election completing her second term as Mayor.
Peg was elected to the Minnesota House or representatives in 1994. During
her 3 terms as a Minnesota legislator Peg served on numerous committees
and task forces. During her tenure at the Minnesota legislature
Peg chaired the Local Government and Metropolitan Affairs Committee,
was Co-Chair of the Aggregate Resource Task Force. Peg served
on the Judiciary and Judicial Finance Committees, Environment and
Natural Resource Finance committee, Government Operations Committee
and Trade and Economic Development Committee.
After three successful terms in the legislature, Peg chose to not
run for a fourth term. Peg was contacted by several of her
now clients shortly after leaving the Legislature for her expertise
in the political realm. Over the last 5 years Peg has developed
a successful Lobbying practice that has included clients such as
Minnesota Coalition Against Sexual Assault, Minnesota Counseling
Association, Hennepin County Environmental Services, and Southern
Minnesota Civil Legal Services. Outside of politics for the
past 25 years Peg has worked with Larsen Properties in many facets
of real estate.

David N. Kunz
David Kunz has been lobbying in the Minnesota Legislature for sixteen
years. He has served as CEO and Executive Director for the
Minnesota Optometric Association, The North Central Optometric
Association, and The Minnesota Chiropractic Association. Currently
he serves as lobbyist and Director of Government Relations for
the Minnesota Chiropractic Association, Northwestern Health Sciences
University. Additionally David lobby’s for Minnesota
Academy of Ophthalmology and provides contract lobbying for a large
twin city law firm.
David has built grassroots lobbying programs for his clients and
has had numerous successes on a wide range of issues. He has
built strong coalitions of industry leaders and has built a reputable
image at the capitol for those he represents. Personal contacts
and individual attention to members and legislative leaders on both
sides of the isle is his forte. He is a tireless advocate for
his clients.
David has over 30years of government lobbying activity. Prior
to coming to Minnesota, he was President of DNK Management, Inc.
a Nebraska Company specializing in full association management services. He
served as CEO and Executive Director for the Nebraska State Association
of Life Underwriters, The Nebraska Optometric Association, and The
Nebraska Lodging Association. Additionally he has lobbied for
the Nebraska Veterinary Medical Association, The Nebraska Funeral
Directors Association, The Nebraska Dental Hygienists Association,
The Nebraska Cheese Mfg. Association, and Flex-O-Lite Corporation.
David maintains a daily presence at the capitol. He is experienced
in developing, coordinating, and advancing legislative agenda’s
for his clients. He maintains a large network of contacts at
the legislature and within government agencies.
Jim Hirst
Jim Hirst is a 16 year veteran lobbyist at the Minnesota Capitol. Jim
began his political resume in the late 1980’s as a staff member
of the Senate Judiciary Committee and later clerked inside the Senate
chamber during floor sessions. Jim has a demonstrable skill
in legislative tactics to advance or stall pending legislation. Jim’s
past clients have included tobacco, alcohol and gaming interests. He
also has extensive regional experience managing lobbyists in the
Upper Midwest and Great Lakes states.
Jim travels the state when the legislature is not in session to
visit with legislators and clients, and to get the “real pulse” of
what is happening outside of the metropolitan area. His contacts
at the capitol run the spectrum from leadership to the capitol barber
and everyone in between! As such, he has a very successful
track record for his clients.
Jim currently focuses on issues concerning the Transportation Committee,
Commerce Committee, Tax Committee, and Environment Committee. In
addition, he is known to frequent (and occasionally upset bureaucrats
at) the Departments of Public Safety, Commerce, Natural Resources,
Transportation, and Revenue. Jim is also very adept at challenging
proposed state agency rules and prevailing. |
